We are delighted to announce that legendary EFL goalkeeper Glenn Morris has joined as our new no. 1 for the 2026/27 season.

Glenn began his career in the Leyton Orient academy before making his senior debut in a trophy match away to Dagenham & Redbridge. That season, Morris also made his league debut at home to Exeter City. He went on to spend nine years with Leyton Orient, winning the club’s Young Player of the Season award twice.

Morris later established himself as the number one goalkeeper at Southend United before moving to Aldershot Town in 2012. He then joined Gillingham and enjoyed a hugely successful spell at Crawley Town, where he won back-to-back Player of the Season awards, including a clean sweep of honours during the memorable 2018/19 campaign.

After six years, 257 appearances and a hatful of awards, Morris returned to the Gills on loan during the 2022/23 season, with the move made permanent in the January transfer window. In his first full season back at the club, Morris once again picked up the Player of the Season award, before adding another at the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign. After making 31 appearances and keeping eight clean sheets in EFL League Two during the most recent season, it was announced that Morris would depart Gillingham this summer.

On signing the new deal, Glenn said: “I had contact from the manager and Dean (Lightwood), who I have worked with before, and it really excited me, and I’m pleased to get it done.

“I’ve obviously been through quite a few different experiences and if I can help the lads in any way, then I will, not just on the pitch but off the pitch as well.”

Manager and Chairman Marc White added: “We’re delighted that an established professional like Glenn has chosen to join Dorking Wanderers. He’s a Football League goalkeeper who, in my opinion, should still be playing in the EFL, and he comes to us off the back of an outstanding season at Gillingham.

“I believe Glenn’s experience, leadership and quality will contribute hugely to the group, and I’m flattered that Dorking will be the first club outside the EFL in his career. I am confident that Glenn has the potential to be the standout signing of our summer transfer window.”
