Bex moves on from the football club leaving behind a true legacy, playing an integral role in the development of the Dorking Wanderers Women’s side since formation in 2020 as a player, captain, head coach and manager progressively over these past six years.

Appointed as captain of the Dorking Wanderers Women in their inaugural season in 2020-21, Bex, playing as a defensive midfielder, led the side which won promotion to Tier 6 in their very first season, and then went on to win their first silverware the following campaign, lifting the Capital Cup after a memorable 1-0 victory over Clapton Community in the final at Meadowbank.

After a period away from playing, Bex returned as Head Coach at the stage where the team had reached Tier 5 of the Women’s football pyramid, competing in the London & South East Regional Premier Division. Supporting Manager’s Lou Cooper and Kerry Knott, Bex was part of the back-room team which oversaw 6th and then 4th placed finishes in the past two season’s as the Women consolidated and competed at the new level.

Ahead of the 25-26 season, following the depatures of Lou and Kerry, Bex stepped into the role of Manager, and has led a campaign which has seen the team again demonstrate consistancy at Tier 5, finishing 6th in the league and also usher in an exciting crop of academy players, including the likes of Xaidan Gooding, Mia Ring and Jasmine Smith, who have all featured regularly throughout the second half of the season.

Reflecting on her time at Dorking Wanderers, Bex says:

“It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to say goodbye to Dorking. I want to thank everyone who has supported me and my time at the club; as your Captain, your Head Coach and your Manager, it’s been one hell of a journey!!” “Dorking will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you and good luck for the future.”

Dorking Wanderers Women’s Chairman Calum Best adds:

“Super grateful for everything Bex has done throughout the years! Bex’s commitment and dedication to the club and team since the very beginning has played such an integral part in making the Women’s team what it is today. I wish Bex every success for the future!”

Men’s First Team Coach and Director of Education & Football Jordan Clark, who led the formation of the Women’s team back in 2020, thanks Bex for the role she has played:

“Over a number of years, Bex has played, coached and managed the team brilliantly, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has given the club. Alongside others involved during her time here, she has helped drive huge strides forward for the Women’s section both on and off the pitch, and leaves with respect and appreciation of everyone at the club. I want to sincerely thank Bex for her commitment, passion and hard work, and wish her every success for the future.”

Everyone at Dorking Wanderers would like to thank Bex for everything she has done since formation of the Women’s team and wishes her the very best for the future.
